162 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance the basis on which agreement was reached between IMPACT and management in the Valuation Office in relation to the dispute over the non-filling of the vacancy for Chief Staff Valuer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5626/98]

A management structure was introduced which entailed the retrenchment of the post which was the subject of the dispute and its replacement by two lower level posts. The settlement was achieved within the authorised staffing number of the office.
