Dinny McGinley

Ceist:

225 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if it is intended to carry out renovation and restoration works to Doe Castle, Creeslough, County Donegal; the nature of the works to be carried out on the castle; the estimated cost of the project; and when works will be completed. [5716/98]

Dúchas, the Heritage Service of my Department, is currently engaged in restoration work at Doe Castle, Creeslough, County Donegal. The work to the castle includes the provision of services, the re-roofing and flooring of the tower house and re-erection of the McSweeney tomb slab within the tower house at an overall cost of approximately £150,000. It is hoped to complete this work in 1999.
