149 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have arrangements made for the provision of extra facilities at special schools in County Kildare, in view of the current requirements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5896/98]
Additional funding amounting to £4.08 million has been allocated by me in 1998 for the development of services for persons with disabilities in the Eastern Health Board region, including the Kildare area. As the Deputy is aware, the provision of educational services for children with disabilities or special needs is a matter for my colleague, the Minister for Education and Science. If the Deputy contacts me with more specific information regarding the particular facilities in which he is interested, I will investigate the matter further for him.
