194 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application for grant aid has been received by his Department from the Dublin Institute of Technology to carry out refurbishment of the Cathal Brugha Street College, Dublin 1; if his attention has been drawn to the overcrowded and inadequate student restaurant and common room facilities; if he will approve grant aid for these works in 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The planning and building unit of my Department has received a proposal from the Dublin Institute of Technology for a further phase of upgrading works at Cathal Brugha Street College of Catering. Discussions have been held with the institute authorities by officials of my Department to advance the project. The institute is preparing a more detailed submission for the consideration of my Department. The phase includes, in particular, improvements to the student restaurant and common room facilities.
