Written Answers - Proposed Legislation.
Primary road traffic legislation has been recently reviewed and updated in the Road Traffic Acts, 1994 and 1995. Further amendments will be considered as necessary.
The scope and application of regulations made under the Road Traffic Acts is reviewed on a regular basis. I have already indicated my intention to make new regulations this year in relation to, inter alia, mandatory testing of private cars, facilitation of cyclists, wheelclamping and introduction of a theory test for new drivers.
