Vol. 488 No. 4

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

P. J. Sheehan

Ceist:

149 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when his Department will reintroduce the farm improvement grant for slatted houses to enable farmers who are involved in the REP scheme to fulfil their programme under that scheme. [6407/98]

There are no funds available to reopen any of the on-farm investment schemes at this stage.

Extra funding provided from the mid-term review of Structural Funds and the Supplementary Estimate in 1997 is being expended on existing liabilities maturing in 1997 and 1998 under the main scheme — the control of farm pollution. The position of overall funding in the CSF under the Structural Funds is kept under constant review to see if savings can be identified in any area which would enable the re-introduction of modified grant arrangements.

Ceist:

150 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will have his area aid file digitised and payment of his cattle headage, beef cow and special beef premiums and equine grant made to him. [6408/98]

Before payments can issue to the person concerned the forage area declared must be validated by the land parcel identification system. In order for this validation to take place, I have arranged for maps to issue to him from my Department. If these maps are returned with the boundaries of his holding outlined on them and if the area can be cleared on the land parcel identification system, the remaining payments will then issue.

Ceist:

151 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will have his area aid file digitised and payment of his cattle headage, suckler cow and beef premiums made to him. [6409/98]

The area aid application of the person concerned was randomly selected for inspection. This inspection has been carried out and the results are being processed. It is anticipated that this process will be completed in the next two weeks and payments can then issue to the person concerned.

152 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will have his area aid file digitised and payment of his cattle headage, suckler cow and beef premium grants made to him. [6423/98]

Before payments can issue to the person concerned the forage area declared must be validated by the land parcel identification system. In order for this validation to take place, I have arranged for townland maps to issue to him from my Department. If these maps are returned with the boundaries of his holding outlined on them and if the area can be cleared on the land parcel identification system, the remaining payments will then issue.

Dinny McGinley

Ceist:

153 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 1997 suckler grant payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [6424/98]

The person named will be paid his 1997 suckler cow premium grants within a week.
