316 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department will have arrangements made to provide an appropriate education for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6383/98]

I can assure the Deputy that I am concerned to ensure that the child in question has access to an appropriate education as soon as possible.

I have requested a member of my Department's inspectorate to investigate the educational needs of this child as a matter of urgency.
