329 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of staff, including a detailed breakdown of the categories, employed at Waterford Institute of Technology and Cork Institute of Technology in each of the academic years 1984-5, 1989-90 and 1996-7; the total pay requirement in each college in each of those years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The institute has informed my Department that no data are available to them for the years 1984-85 and 1989-90 as the City of Cork VEC were responsible for the institute's personnel and financial affairs up to 31 December 1992.

My Department has asked the institute to seek the outstanding data from the vocational education committees concerned and to convey the data directly to the Deputy.
