Trevor Sargent

Ceist:

81 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of licences issued in 1998 by his Department for the purchase or holding of meat and bonemeal on premises or farms; the names and addresses of parties to whom licences issued; the purpose for which these licences issued; the quantities of meat and bonemeal involved; and the date of issue in each case. [6128/98]

Thirty one licences under the Diseases of Animals (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) (No. 2) Order, 1996 (S. I. No. 278 of 1996), for the purchase and/or holding of meat and bonemeal have been issued by my Department to date in 1998.

The details on the licences which have been issued in 1998 are as follows:

It would not be appropriate to release the names and addresses of the parties to whom licences have been issued.
The licences issued do not specify the quantities of meat and bonemeal that may be purchased.
