Vol. 488 No. 4

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Gerry Reynolds

Ceist:

100 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will receive his 1997 cattle headage and suckler cow premium payments. [6181/98]

The 1997 cattle headage grant due to the person named was originally calculated as £379.10 based on incorrect forage area details. As the person named had been overpaid by £224 under the 1996 suckler cow BSE top-up scheme, this amount was deducted from his 1997 cattle headage entitlement and he was paid the remainder of £155.10 on 10 December 1997. The area aid error has now been corrected and the balance of his entitlement will be paid to him within the next two weeks.

The person concerned will be paid his 1997 suckler cow premium grants within the next two weeks.

Ceist:

102 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if it is the Department's intention to pay all installation aid applications which were received by the Department or Teagasc prior to 7 August 1997. [6183/98]

All valid applications received in my Department prior to the 7 August 1997 are currently being processed.

Applications not fully processed by Teagasc prior to that date are the subject of ongoing discussions.
