Written Answers - Eel Licensing System.
A comprehensive review of the licensing framework and overall management strategy for the eel resource is being undertaken by the Department, the central and regional fisheries boards and the Marine Institute. The objective is to ensure a legal and management framework to underpin the conservation and sustainable development of the resource in line with the needs of legitimate users and other concerned parties.
