Vol. 488 No. 5

Written Answers - Tax Refunds.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

78 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance if he will ensure that a tax refund due to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 is paid without further delay. [6797/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has examined the taxpayer's income tax liability and has determined that he is entitled to marginal relief in the current tax year. An amended certificate of tax-free allowances will be issued to the taxpayer on 18 March 1998 which will reduce his income tax liability for the year by £104.93. This amount will be refunded on 1 April 1998 when he receives his next monthly pension payment from the Construction Federation.
