Vol. 488 No. 7

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

380 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if a recreational amenity grant has been sanctioned for a project (details supplied) in County Cork; and, if so, when payment will issue. [6954/98]

A grant of £20,000 was allocated to the school in 1997 under the sports capital programme. In line with standard procedures, payment of the grant is subject to the school providing specific documentation and information confirming that the development carried out complies with the terms and conditions of the programme. My Department recently wrote to the school outlining the outstanding documentation and information required in order for payment of the grant to be made. When this is submitted and found to be in order, payment will be made.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

381 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will provide funding through the recreational grant scheme for a gym at a school (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7024/98]

My Department has no record of receiving an application for funding under the sports capital programme from the organisation mentioned.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

382 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will approve lottery funding for the refurbishment of the Kiltimagh Community Sports Complex, County Mayo (details supplied). [7091/98]

An application from this group under the sports capital programme was received in my Department in May 1997 and will be considered when grant allocations are being made for the coming year in accordance with the criteria for awarding such grants as set out in the terms and conditions of the programme.
