55 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the reason the Government appointed a person (details supplied) to the inquiry team into sexual abuse in swimming; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7261/98]

A senior counsel was appointed as counsel to the inquiry, to assist the chairman, Dr. Roderick Murphy SC on any legal matters arising, including aspects of the inquiry, both procedural and matters of substance, on which he requires advice.
