119 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will meet with a deputation from Killarney Urban District Council to discuss the provision of a public swimming pool in Killarney, County Kerry. [8259/98]
The provision of £4 million in my Department's Vote for 1998 for the construction and refurbishment of swimming pools is fully committed to projects under construction or fully approved and on which work is expected to commence later this year.
As arrangements are being made for the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation to take over responsibility for the swimming pool programme, a meeting on my part with a deputation from Killarney Urban District Council, for the purpose referred to by the Deputy, would serve no useful purpose.
