32 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the changes, if any, she intends to make to the membership of the board of the Irish Aviation Authority; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8315/98]
The Deputy is aware that Mr. Jim Lacey recently tendered his resignation as chairman of the authority.
I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Mr. Lacey for his work as chairman. He took over the position within a year of the authority being established as a commercial State company and he successfully guided it in these early years to becoming a commercially viable undertaking.
I am at present actively considering the question of his replacement.
