419 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of subvention paid by his Department to Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6W for each of the years 1996 and 1997; and if he will provide a breakdown of this. [8814/98]

421 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of new posts which have been approved for funding by his Department in Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross, Dublin 6W to date in 1998; and the titles of each post or part-post. [8816/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 419, 420 and 421 together.

My Department provides Our Lady's Hospice at Harold's Cross with a level of funding each year and it is a matter for the management of the Hospice to provide services within the level of funding notified to them and make decisions on its utilisation.

My Department provided £6.392 million in 1996 and £7.004 in 1997 to Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross to provide services.

Additional posts approved 1996-1998

(i) No additional posts were approved in 1996

(ii) 14 additional posts were approved in 1997 as follows: three staff nurses, four care assistants, ward sister, occupational therapist, social worker, physiotherapist, supplies officer and two clerks grade III.

(iii) No additional posts have been approved in 1998 to date.
