74 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, there are for the replacement by the Air Corps of the short range Dauphin helicopters with medium range craft as recommended approximately seven years ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9250/98]

There are no plans at present to replace the five Dauphin helicopters operated by the Air Corps. Proposals for the provision of new equipment for the Air Corps will be considered in the context of the review of the Corps which will shortly be submitted to Government.
