Vol. 490 No. 4

Written Answers. - Parking Regulations.

Joe Higgins

Ceist:

127 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the provision, if any, there is for reserved on-street parking for people with disabilities. [10358/98]

It is open to road authorities under their parking control powers to designate disabled persons parking bays. It is subsequently an offence to stop or park a vehicle in such a bay unless a valid disabled person's parking permit is displayed and the vehicle is parked for the benefit of the person to whom the permit was granted.
