132 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider increasing the £1,000 maximum claims that can be made through the small claims court; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10291/98]
Under the District Court Small Claims (Procedure) Rules the monetary limit for claims under the procedure was initially set at £500. This was increased to £600 in 1997. I am currently reviewing the operation of the procedure with a view to increasing the monetary limit further to a maximum of £1,000.
