Vol. 490 No. 4

Written Answers. - Home Help Scheme.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

47 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the action, if any, he intends to take arising from the recommendation of the rights commissioner in a case (details supplied) in relation to the full legal entitlements of home helps under the Worker Protection (Regular Part-Time Employees) Act, 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10180/98]

I understand the rights commissioner investigation in this case referred to a home help working in the South Eastern Health Board region. Implementation of the recommendation is a day-to-day matter for the board. However, the board tells me that it has accepted and is currently implementing this recommendation.
