323 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 198 of 4 March 1998 regarding a school (details supplied) in County Carlow, he will outline the progress since that date; and the outcome of the meeting held between officials of his Department and the board of management of this school some weeks ago. The management of the school referred to by the Deputy has applied to my Department for grant assistance towards the cost of providing a new school building. Officials from my Department's building unit met with the school authorities on 24 March, 1998. It was agreed that the Department's architectural staff would visit the school to examine the existing school structure. The architect visited the school recently and his report is expected shortly. As soon as this report is received it will be examined without delay.
