Vol. 490 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cultural Development Incentive Scheme.

Michael D. Higgins

Ceist:

68 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the projects under the cultural development incentive scheme which have commenced construction; the projects which will proceed in 1998; the projects which are not proceeding; if she anticipates a full draw down and expenditure of Structural Funds; and the plans, if any, she has for substitution of projects not proceeding. [10845/98]

The construction phase of the following projects approved for funding under the cultural development incentives scheme has commenced: Laois Arts Centre, County Laois; Cork Public Museum, Cork city; Waterford Theatre Royal, Waterford city; Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork city; Kino Arthouse Cinema, Cork city; Cork Opera House, Cork city; Jeanie Johnston Project, Tralee, County Kerry; St. Michael's Theatre, New Ross, County Wexford; Cobh Carillon, County Cork; Wandesford Quay Artists Studios, Cork city Lambert Puppet Theatre, County Dublin; Dun Laoghaire Theatre, County Dublin; Tallaght Theatre, County Dublin Galway Arts Centre, Galway city; Mullingar Integrated Arts Centre, County Westmeath; Moate Theatre, County Westmeath; Black Box Theatre, Galway city; Letterkenny Theatre, County Donegal.

As I am confident that the Structural Funds available to the scheme will be drawn down in full in respect of projects already approved, I do not foresee the possibility of funding substitute projects.
