123 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the need to progress the proposal to provide a new sewerage scheme in Redhills, County Cavan; the stage of planning of this project; when it will proceed to construction stage; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A preliminary report for this scheme has been submitted to my Department. Funding for the scheme was sought as part of an application for Cohesion Fund assistance submitted to the European Commission in respect of the Erne Catchment Water Management Scheme. Approval has not been forthcoming. In view of this and the high level of commitments under the water and sewerage services investment programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance this proposal.
