Vol. 491 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

120 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Education and Science the distances to be travelled from their homes to the school transport pick-up point in relation to each of the 13 pupils attending a post primary centre in County Mayo (details supplied). [12373/98]

My Department is aware that there are ten pupils from the area referred to by the Deputy residing within the catchment area of their post primary centre. These pupils are between 0.3 and 1.5 miles from the pick-up point. Another six pupils from an adjoining area reside between 2 and 2.7 miles from their catchment boundary service. The level of service for all these pupils is within my Department's guidelines.
