Vol. 492 No. 1

Written Answers. - Security Clearance.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

201 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position in relation to the provision of an employment clearance certificate for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare regarding building and maintenance services in the Prison Services in view of the fact that the non-provision of this is causing financial problems. [13411/98]

I presume the Deputy is referring to the security clearance procedures to be completed in respect of all persons wishing to enter prisons for work related purposes. An application for security clearance has not been received at my Department in respect of the person named. If such an application is lodged it will be processed as expeditiously as possible.
