57 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children the request, if any, he has received for funding or support from the La Le che League; the way in which he intends to respond to the request; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14130/98]
The health promotion unit of my Department recently received a request for funding for La Le che League. As part of the continuing support provided by my Department to the group, and in support of its aims of promoting breastfeeding generally, I have recently approved a grant of £10,000 to the La Le che League for its activites in 1998. This support is to be used in relation to costs involved in Leader training programmes and the production of leaflets packs and posters regarding breastfeeding.
