148 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has received a request from the British authorities for the transfer of a person (details supplied) to a prison in Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14692/98]

I can confirm that an application for transfer in respect of the person referred to in the question was formally transmitted by the United Kingdom authorities. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the person referred to was transferred here on Tuesday, 16 June 1998.
