The herdowner lodged an appeal on 12 May 1998 concerning his 1997 special beef premium application. Appeals are dealt with in the order in which they are received and require individual examination. This appeal will be dealt with in due course and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.

Ceist:161 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway who has not received payment for an additional unit for the past two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15013/98]
The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. The herd number of the person named is G2870192.
The person named has a suckler cow quota of 16.9 for both 1996 and 1997. In 1996 he listed 15 tag numbers on the suckler cow premium schedule of his application form but requested payment on 17 animals. Since only 15 tag numbers were listed the position is that 15 was the maximum on which payment could issue.
In 1997 the person named listed 16 tag numbers on the suckler cow premium schedule of the application and again requested payment on 17. Payment could only issue on the 16 tag numbers listed on the application form.
