Vol. 493 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

147 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry, living in the Southern Health Board jurisdiction and a thalidomide victim, has not been fitted with a prosthesis despite an 11 year wait; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15557/98]

The provision of a prosthesis in any individual case is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, I have referred the Deputy's question to the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board with a request that he examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
