143 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the number of claims for personal injuries made against her Department between 1990 and 1997; the number of these claims in respect of which compensation was paid; and the total amount paid for each of these years. [18187/98]

Five claims for personal injuries have been made against my Department between the years 1990 and 1997. Compensation was paid in respect of two of these claims — in the amounts of £5,437 in 1994 and £38,361 in 1995.
