Ceist:198 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Defence the number of vacancies that exist in FCÁ units and PDF training staff; if he will list the vacancies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18244/98]
Since 1991 there have been restrictions on the transfer of Permanent Defence Force personnel to FCA units. A review of the Reserve Defence Force is currently under way and the future position regarding this issue will depend on the outcome and recommendations of this review. The information sought by the Deputy in regard to Permanent Defence Force vacancies in FCA units is not readily available. I will write to the Deputy as soon as the information is available.
