59 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Health and Children his response to the review of child care and family support services published in April 1998; the estimated cost of implementing its recommendations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18884/98]
I understand that the Deputy is referring to the report of the Eastern Health Board/IMPACT Review Group on Child Care and Family Support Services. This is an internal document which was finalised in April 1997. I also understand that the report is currently providing a valuable framework in assisting the board in planning the development of child care services and that this development is intended to take place over a number of years. This development will have cost implications and these will be addressed in the context of the board's annual determinations over the period in question.
