Vol. 495 No. 1

Written Answers. - Microwave Radiation.

John Gormley

Ceist:

224 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to provide for a Government backed public health indemnity in respect of non-ionising microwave radiation, which is to become a feature of the everyday lives of the majority of Irish people and which is recognised to have health implications for the human population. [19213/98]

I have no plans to provide for a Government backed public health indemnity in respect of non-ionising microwave radiation. I might add that expert advice indicates that there is no evidence that non-ionising microwave radiation at the levels to which the Irish public are exposed presents any hazard to health.
