Vol. 495 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ambulance Services.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

252 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford, who was referred to Cork University Hospital, was not taken to hospital by the ambulance assigned to him; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19374/98]

The provision of hospital services to eligible persons in County Waterford, in this instance, is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
