313 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when the CCTV scheme for the Finglas area, Dublin 11 will be implemented in view of the fact this was regarded as a priority for his Department a number of years ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20144/98]
Finglas is one of six areas on the priority list for the installation of Garda CCTV systems as an aid to policing. The other areas are Bray, Cork, Dublin South Central, Dundalk and Limerick. Systems will be installed in these areas as manpower and financial resources permit. It is not possible to say, at this stage, when the CCTV system for Finglas will be installed.
