56 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the steps he will take to ensure that expenditure on services for people with disabilities and mental handicap are increased in the forthcoming budget. [20280/98]
My responsibility in relation to people with disabilities, including those with a mental handicap, relates to the promotion of equal opportunities. I have no responsibility for the provision of services.
I liaise on an ongoing basis with my colleagues who have responsibility for service provision for people with disabilities and I support their endeavours in securing increased funding in the forthcoming budget.
