Vol. 495 No. 5

Written Answers. - Consultancy Contracts.

Joe Higgins

Ceist:

149 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will provide figures on the cost of consultancies undertaken by the private sector for her Department for each of the years from 1995 to 1997 and the forecasted figure for 1998. [20710/98]

Expenditure by my Department on consultants, Subhead A7 of my Department's Vote, amounted to £148,000 in 1995, £67,000 in 1996 and £104,000 in 1997. The estimated expenditure in 1998 for the subhead is £386,000. The increase in 1998 is accounted for by a number of major consultancies which I outlined in my reply to Question No. 349 of 30 Meitheamh, 1998.

Joe Higgins
