Joe Higgins

Ceist:

203 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Defence if he will be provided with a copy of the licence issued by the Minister under the Curragh of Kildare Act, 1969, to the turf club for the construction and use of the two all weather gallops at Maddenstown, the Curragh, County Kildare. [21374/98]

No licences were issued under the Curragh of Kildare Acts in connection with the construction of the gallops in question. However, permission was granted by the Department subject to the planning regulations then in force.

Ceist:

204 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Defence if he has authorised the removal of the sheep pens and the dipping tank at Ballymany, County Kildare. [21375/98]

The position is that the faciities in question were held under licence by Kildare County Council and were formerly necessary to facilitate the statutory requirement for the dipping of sheep. However, this requirement no longer exists and it is proposed to remove the pens as soon as practicable.
