Earlier this year, in accordance with the Defence Forces complaints procedures agreed with the representative associations, the complaints inquiry officer submitted his 1997-98 annual report. The report is in respect of the 12 month period to 30 April 1998 and records the number and the nature of applications for redress of wrongs referred to the complaints inquiry officer together with an outline of his recommendations to the Minister in each case. The report also contains the views of the complaints inquiry officer on the operation of the revised complaints procedures since they came into effect in April 1996.
