Vol. 495 No. 7
225 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the basis for his Department's position whereby temporary veterinary inspectors are not employees of his Department. [21070/98]
I am advised that the contracts in question were contracts for services with the legal consequence that the temporary veterinary inspectors are independent contractors and not employees of my Department.
226 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will make a statement setting our the criteria his Department used in deciding that temporary veterinary inspectors are employed under a contract for services. [21071/98]
227 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the way in which the terms of the contract for service of the temporary veterinary inspectors in his Department varies from a standard contract of service. [21072/98]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 226 and 227 together.
These are not matters determined by me; they are matters of the general law of contract.
