Vol. 495 No. 7

Written Answers. - National Development Plan.

Ceist:

376 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Finance his views on the submission, Working for the Region's Future, from the Dublin Regional Authority to the National Plan for the EU Structural Fund; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21330/98]

The Dublin Regional Authority's submission on the National Development Plan, NDP, is currently under consideration in my Department along with the submissions from the other regional authorities and the social partners. Government Departments responsible for structural fund programmes have also been asked by my Department to give consideration to the regional authority and social partner submissions in the context of developing priorities for the next NDP. My Department will be consulting with regional authorities, the main social partners and Government Departments in relation to their submissions in due course.

I will not be in a position to reach conclusions in relation to the Dublin Regional Authority or other submissions until this consultation process has been completed and my Department completes its assesment of priority needs for the next NDP and the resources available to meet such priorities.
