Vol. 495 No. 7

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Gerry Reynolds

Ceist:

708 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide funding in 1998 for the construction of two classrooms at Ransboro national school, County Sligo. [21393/98]

John Perry

Ceist:

753 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the serious accommodation problem at a school (details supplied) in County Sligo; the steps, if any, taken to deal with it; the reasons for the delay; if he will allocate funds to enable this necessary expansion; if so, when the funds will be available and the amount of money to be allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21891/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 708 and 753 together.

The school authorities recently applied for additional accommodation at Ransboro national school.

My Department's planning section is currently examining the long-term accommodation requirements of the school and when this examination is complete a decision on the request will be made having regard to the urgency of the works and the availability of capital funding.
