Vol. 496 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

410 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will make a grant available to Scoil an Athar Tadhg, Carrignavar, County Cork, to replace the flat roof, to replace the pvc floor covering and to convert the existing office space and staff room into a computer room. [22429/98]

The Office of Public Works, Cork, has been asked to inspect the roof at Scoil an Athar Tadhg, Carrignavar, County Cork, and provide a report to my Department. When this is received and considered, a decision on funding will be taken. With regard to the floor covering and conversion works, it is open to the school to utilise the devolved minor grant towards these improvements. The board of management was advised of the position on 4 November 1998.

Pat Carey

Ceist:

411 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Education and Science when works required in Holy Spirit boys' national school, Ballymun, Dublin 11, will be carried out due to the acceptance of an extra class and sanctioning of a second special class; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22430/98]

The accommodation needs of Holy Spirit boys' national school, Ballymun, are currently under consideration within my Department. At this stage, it is premature to state when required works will be carried out.
