88 Ms Clune asked the Taoiseach the arrangements, if any, he has put in place in his Department to offset any adverse effects of the millennium bug; the effects the millennium bug will have; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23529/98]
Since 1997, my Department has been taking steps to ensure full year 2000 compliance is achieved on all affected equipment. Work is ongoing with a view to ensuring compliancy of all critical systems by the end of 1998.
My Department continues to apply itself diligently to the prevention of year 2000 problems and does not envisage any adverse effects arising from the millennium bug.
