142 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Finance the amount of income tax paid by the PAYE, self-employed and farmers for each of the past three years; the estimated amount for 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24199/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the following is the position with regard to the net receipt of income tax for 1996, 1997 and 1998.
