Vol. 496 No. 7

Written Answers. - Health Services.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

188 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will examine the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24 who suffers from Alzheimer's disease to ensure that she is given residence in a nursing home near her home in view of the fact that there are two other elderly relatives in two different nursing homes suffering from the disease; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24205/98]

: As the Deputy will be aware the provision of health services in the Dublin area is, in the first instance, a matter for the Eastern Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board to investigate this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
