Vol. 497 No. 3

Written Answers - Tax Rebates.

Michael Bell

Ceist:

116 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Louth has not received a tax rebate for 1996-7 in relation to his last employment; the amount of arrears due; and when they will be paid. [24979/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that, according to the information available to the inspector of taxes, the taxpayer is not due a tax rebate but has in fact an outstanding tax liability. It may be that the taxpayer has paid relevant contracts, C45, tax for which he has not yet claimed credit. If that is the case, he should forward any forms C45 in his possession to the inspector of taxes who will adjust his tax liability.
