243 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will report on plans to establish COMHAR, the national sustainable development partnership; the relationship he will establish between COMHAR and the National Environment Partnership Forum; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Arising from the consultation process earlier this year in relation to the National Environment Partnership Forum, and consideration of the many submissions made in this regard, the Government decided to establish the forum under the title of COMHAR — the National Sustainable Development Partnership. This more explicitly reflects the remit of the new body to address wider issues of sustainable development, as well as environmental policy matters. I am currently finalising relevant details, and will make a formal announcement on the launch of the new body as soon as possible.
