Vol. 497 No. 6

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Ulick Burke

Ceist:

140 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway under the 1996 cattle headage and suckler cow grant schemes in view of the fact that the delay in processing has now been resolved. [25918/98]

Application was made by the person named under both the 1996 cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes on 4 June 1996.

At an on farm inspection it was found that three of the animals presented as applied on were untagged and the herdowner was notified that he was only entitled to payment at a reduced rate. A review of this decision was requested by him in October 1998. Following the review the original decision was upheld. The person named was informed of this in writing on 24 November 1998 and was given the option to appeal the decision within 21 days.

When the 21 day period has elapsed and no appeal has been lodged payment at the reduced rate will be made under both the cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes.
